Amphitheaters, theaters, performing arts centers, and clubs designed for live performances are highly specialized. These venues require a great amount of technical expertise as well as the ability work within complex groups and political circumstances. Collegiate and professional sports venues are equally challenging and require the same high level of committment from team members. Bastien and Associates, Inc. is very experienced in this type of teamwork, and is currently working with SFX Entertainment on the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater (formerly Irvine Meadows Amphitheater). Bastien's director of architecture, Jim Kier brings experience with many other important projects to the firm, such as the 25,000 seat Coors Amphitheater in Chula Vista, Calif., a concept design for Subic Bay Amphitheatre, a 20,000 seat, $16 million live performance venue in a Filipino rain forest setting, a $60 million renovation of the Qualcomm/Jack Murphy Stadium in San Diego for the 1998 Superbowl, and many others.
