Alicante, SpainCiudad de la Luz (City of Light) is an $88 million full-feature film studio on the Mediterranean that quickly set the standard for the European film industry when it opened in 2005. The studio is on the beautiful coast of Alicante, Spain, and includes eight state-of-the-art sound stages, production support, dressing rooms, storage, screening rooms, mill/shops, commissary, and a 22-acre backlot. Phase II work is already underway, and includes two additional sound stages, production support facilities, multiple water tanks on the Mediterranean, administration offices, theater, post production facilities, and a film school. Future expansion will also accommodate eight more stages, four more production support buildings, an extended backlot , and more mill/shop space.
Projects completed at the studio include the Executive Office Building and Commissary.
